Some important things to remember when taking
notes:
- Take notes - do not just copy. Put it in your
own words.
- Use quotation marks if you must use another
person's exact words.
- Organize your notes by subject.
- Keep track of information for your
bibliography
- Use standard formats for non-electronic
resources
- To cite files available on the WWW, give
the author's name, last name first (if known); the full title
of the work, in quotation marks; the title of the complete work
(if applicable), in italics; any version or file numbers; and
the date of the document or last revision (if available). Next,
list the protocol (e.g., "http") and the full URL, followed by
the date of access in parentheses. See example below:
- Cantrall, Dan (Electronic Information
Coordinator) "Fighters on the Farm Front" Oregon State
Archives. January, 1994.
