Most people think that Police Officers can be real boring. Not Mrs. Harwood's fourth period Driver's Education class. They think that it is a lot of fun when Officer McNeil comes to visit. "We learn a lot when Officer McNeil comes to visit. We get to ask him about the new laws and about things that we don't understand. The good thing about Officer McNeil is that he tries to explain things by putting them into a real live situation that he has encountered" replies Ariane Frakes, a student in Driver's Education. The kids pay a lot of attention to Officer McNeil when he come to visit (as you can tell, people are getting involved and paying attention). In a recent occurrence, Officer McNeil brought in the beer goggles and let people try them on. Then Officer McNeil did a few sobriety tests on them. Ariane Frakes recorded all of this mishap. Later on you will be able of view some of this as a Quicktime video clip.

On the other hand, we had a representative come from an insurance company ( I won't mention the name of the insurance company). Everybody knows that insurance is a must, but I don't think that Mrs. Harwood's class knew that it could be so boring. Maybe it was that the representative didn't tell stories, I don't know. As you can see, either Mrs. Harwood's class was extra tired, or the representative came on the wrong day. "I didn't like the insurance representative as well as I like Officer McNeil. Officer McNeil tells stories, and I like that. The insurance representative just threw facts at us. It was real boring. I think that if he [the insurance representative] would have made it a little more interesting, I personally would have paid more attention" replied a student in the same class. If you look at the pictures above and compare them to Officer McNeil's visit, I think that you will see what I mean.
