This class will begin with a basic explanation of what the Internet is and how to get there. We will continue with search strategies, creating and managing Internet bookmarks, class lessons, using email, and listservs. Students will also learn to save images and text from web sites for use in other projects. Projects may include class lessons involving the Internet, interactive sessions with other teachers & students, and creating a web page or pagess. All classes will be conducted on Macintosh computers, but the tools are essentially the same on Windows machines. Prerequisite: ED 136 or consent of instructor and Internet access at home or at work. For 2 or 3 credits, student must have Internet and email access outside of class and consent of instructor.
